THE GOSPEL

Go and Make Disciples

Biblical counseling is really just caring enough about people to reach them where they are with the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Every Christian reaching every non-Christian with the Gospel—that’s the mandate Christ left us with in Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15 which says to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."  This command is not just for pastors, evangelists, or missionaries but for every believer who has received the Good News of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. None of us get a pass on this command.

In Jesus’ prayer to His Father, shortly before He went to the cross, He prays for his disciples…and for us: "As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. My prayer is not for them (the 12) alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message…so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:18-21). Jesus tells His followers in Acts 1:8 to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Similarly, we are called to be His witnesses in our city, our state, our country, and to the ends of the world. We are called to be witnesses of Christ's love and salvation, sharing the Gospel with those around us, in our local communities and beyond.

We are called to share the message of the Good News with others and to live in a way that reflects Christ's love and grace. We should be intentional about our relationships with others, seeking opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus and to point others towards Him. Paul writes In 2 Corinthians 5:20: "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.” In Romans 1:16, Paul writes, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes." As Christ's ambassadors, we are called to boldly proclaim the message of the Gospel. Ultimately, being an ambassador for Christ is both a privilege and a responsibility. We have been entrusted with the message of the Gospel, and we are called to faithfully and boldly share it with others. As we do so, we can trust that Christ will work through us to make His appeal to the world, and that His kingdom will continue to advance through our witness.

We are ambassadors–representatives of Jesus Christ and His kingdom.

Our passion at the Biblical Counseling Hub is to reach every person in our communities and beyond with the Gospel. There are instances in the book of Acts where every person in a city or region heard the word of the Lord. In Acts 8:4-8, we read about Philip's ministry in Samaria. He preached the Gospel, and many people believed and were baptized. The whole city was filled with joy, and everyone heard the word of the Lord. Paul and Barnabas preached the Gospel in Pisidian Antioch where many believed. “The news of their preaching spread throughout the whole region, and everyone heard the word of the Lord” (Acts 13:44-52). In Acts 19:8-10, Paul preached for two years “so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord."

We would like to invite you to join us in our desire to reach every person in our community with the hope and healing of the Gospel through the avenue of biblical counseling.
