THE WORD OF GOD

At the Biblical Counseling Hub, one of our passions is to create a learning community around the Word of God. Our passion is to equip and train the Church to rightly divide the Word of Truth, so that we can apply its principles to our lives and help others to do the same. We recognize that many Christians struggle with applying the Word of God to their everyday lives, whether in relationships, emotions, addictions, or other struggles. We offer a variety of resources and training programs to help Christians learn how to use the Word of God to address specific needs and challenges.

Our approach to biblical counseling is rooted in the belief that the Word of God is sufficient for all of our spiritual and emotional needs. We provide counsel using the whole counsel of God’s Word. "For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27). We believe that the Word of God is not just a source of information but a source of transformation and that by engaging with it deeply and personally, we can experience the healing and wholeness that God intends for us.

Just because we are now under a covenant of grace does not mean that the Word of God is any less important for our lives today. We have so many passions and so many distractions that we place as a higher importance than the Word of God. "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26). Jesus said in John 8:31-32, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

The critical nature of truly knowing the Word of God and putting in the work to learn it deeply cannot be overstated. In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus tells the parable of the wise and foolish builders, highlighting the importance of building our lives on a firm foundation. The wise builder is the one who hears the Word of God and puts it into practice, while the foolish builder hears the Word of God but does not obey it. When the storms of life come, the house built on the rock stands firm, but the house built on sand is destroyed. This parable underscores the importance of not just hearing the Word of God, but actively putting it into practice and building our lives on the firm foundation of His truth.

According to Jesus, true disciples abide in His Word. "The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward" (Psalm 19:7-11).
